Welcoming Demetrio Garcia to the Digital Leaders Now Board of Directors
Digital Leaders Now (DLN) is excited to welcome Demetrio “D” Garcia, Vice President of Business and External Affairs at Golden Hill Foods, to its Board of Directors.
For Demetrio, joining DLN is about alignment of purpose, vision, and community impact. With over 30 years of experience across various industries and businesses, he has witnessed the digital world expand rapidly while gaps in access and opportunity that persist.
“We’re already in the digital age—the age of the intelligent worker—but gaps still exist,” Demetrio shared. “I’m invested in creating awareness in our community about new opportunities in this space.”
Connecting Experience to Real-World Impact
A native of Chicago and an Engineering graduate of the University of Illinois, Demetrio has spent his career bridging local impact with global reach. His work has taken him across various industries and continents—from Aviation, Technology, Food and Beverage and non-for-profit service.
Demetrio invests deeply in business mentorship and community growth. As a company advisor, he supports a start-up in the Biometric digital technology space, an E-Learning company that nurtures leadership and character development and is also a partner at his current company in the Food supply chain industry. He has served on various boards and a leader with local and national non-profit organizations and chambers. He also continues to mentor young professionals, students, investors and entrepreneurs.
Demetrio first learned about DLN through Angeles Investors, where he and DLN CEO & Founder Caroline Sanchez Crozier are both active members. They share a strong commitment to supporting and investing in Latino-led tech startups.
A Shared Commitment to Purpose and Progress
Demetrio describes himself as both purpose-driven and results-driven, qualities that resonate with DLN’s mission to make technology an accessible tool for everyone. He was especially inspired by DLN’s holistic approach to digital learning, which connects students, families, educators, and employers to build long-term pathways to success.
“I see DLN like a bridge,” he said. “It helps close the gap between learning technology and using it to create real opportunities.”

As a new board member, Demetrio looks forward to contributing to DLN’s strategic direction and growth, helping the organization strengthen its corporate relationships and expand its impact across Illinois and beyond.
“My purpose as a board member is to help DLN become an even greater version of itself, to help 10x its impact,” Demetrio noted.
